Home Physical Therapy Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
"Are you still open during Covid-19 for home visits?"
Yes, we are still evaluating and treating patients in their homes/apartments during Covid-19.
"Are you verbally screening patients/families for Covid-19 before meeting them in person?"
Yes, we conduct verbal screenings over the first phone call to make sure that the prospective patient has not had any recent Covid symptoms, or that they have flown on an airplane recently, or that they or any one that they have been in contact with have previously been diagnosed with Covid-19.
"Do I need a referral or doctor's prescription?"
No. In New York state we have "Direct Access" - meaning that you do not need a referral from your doctor to receive care from us. If you do have a script though, we can absolutely still see you!
"Do you accept my insurance?"
Yes, we are an Out-Of-Network provider - meaning that we are able to provide you with a detailed invoice at the end of each treatment session for you to submit to your insurance company - which may allow you to receive full or partial reimbursement depending upon your specific insurance plan. We do accept Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) as well as Health Savings Accounts (HSA).
"How many visits (sessions) will I need?"
It is impossible to know or predict the amount of visits you will require until we perform a thorough evaluation and examination, but the good thing is that by receiving one-on-one care (60 minute visits), you will require less treatment visits than at other clinics where you work with a therapist for less than 15 minutes.
"Do you bring a treatment table to my apartment?"
No. Foldable and portable treatment tables are still bulky and weigh about 35 pounds, so they are difficult to carry through the subway. We can use chairs, couches, or even yoga mats to perform our hands-on treatment during your in-home or office/workplace sessions. Also, there are several great portable treatment tables on Amazon for around $100-150 that you could purchase. These foldable tables can then be stored in a closet or slid under a bed so that is out of the way between home visits.
"What should I wear for my first visit?"
We suggest wearing loose-fitting and comfortable clothes for your physical therapy visits. Also, keep in mind that your painful area will be examined by your Doctor of Physical Therapy. Therefore...
- if you have neck pain then a loose collared shirt is best;
- if you have lower back pain, wear a loose-fitting shirt so we can access your lower back;
- if you have knee pain, then it's best to wear shorts or loose pants that can roll up above the knee;
- if you have shoulder pain, a loose fitting tee shirt or sleeveless tee shirt is best;
"Since you're coming into my apartment, can I first review the therapist's resume, license number, or any other background information on them?"
Yes. Upon request, we can email you our therapist's resumes, active license numbers, NPI numbers, history of continuing education courses, and areas of specialization and experience.
"Can you send me more testimonials and success stories for other New Yorkers like me?"

"Can you send me a receipt for my payments?"
Yes. We will email you detailed receipts with a full billing breakdown including treatment codes, ICD-10 diagnosis codes, and more - so that your insurance will know exactly what is performed and done during each visit.
"How do I learn more or inquire about cost, insurance, and availability?"
Call us 24/7 any time today at (646)-781-8884. If you call, our receptionist will take down your contact information about your situation. And, then a team member from the practice will personally call you back, often the same day. You can ask any question you may have. We will discuss your symptoms and your goals (and, results that you're looking for). Then, we will determine if you are a good fit for our practice. It's important that you hear about our Customized Treatment Protocols and Clinical Approach. This will be discussed BEFORE you decide to schedule your first home therapy visit.
